I just looked into a writer, Kazuo Ishisguro, because one of his books has been made into a movie that looked pretty good called 'Never Let Me Go'.  The story follows the lives of three friends as they grow from children in a special school in England.  There are several twists and turns to the story and themes, but I have to say this; DON'T GOOGLE THE BOOK! Almost any online listing give away key elements to the story that are much better left discovered on your own.  Check it out, it was a pretty good read.
